Has the Bible Been Tampered With? Yes

Does It Matter? Yes

This blog is not so much about proving that the Bible has been negatively tampered with, but to provide an unbiased insight into the doctrine passed down by our Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus. It’s a doctrine that differs from the doctrine contained in the Old and New Testaments of the King James and Catholic Bibles, and the differences are significant.

First, what is the truth regarding Bible tampering? There is a writing that was discovered in the late 1800’s that is known as the long lost Gospel of the Nazarenes. This writing, which archeologists and a surprising number of scholars say is authentic, was referred to by the Early Church Fathers of the First Century, as being the original teachings of Christ, and they were recorded by His Disciples shortly after His crucifixion. In addition to these writings there are two others that were discovered in the 1940’s, which are known as The Gospels of the Nag Hammadi, and the Dead Sea Scrolls. These two writings have also been deemed to be authentic, and they contain words, phrases, and concepts identical to those found in the Gospel of the Nazarenes, which today is known as The Gospel of the Holy Twelve.

Why does the truth matter? It matters because everyone has the right to know the true side of God, and His Son, Jesus Christ. For years there have been Christians and Catholics alike who have had concerns about their Bible, and rightly so; they contain inconsistencies and contradictions that cannot be definitively answered by the clergy. Whenever a question could not be answered to a parishioner’s satisfaction, they were ultimately told that they simply must believe. Is that really an acceptable answer?

In the King James and Catholic Bibles, both God and Jesus are portrayed as having a vindictive side to them. In the Scriptures of The Gospel of the Holy Twelve, Jesus said, “Keep ye the commandments. Love thy God with all thy heart, and love thy neighbor as thyself. On these hang all the law and the prophets.” I ask you this: can a person truly love God with all of their heart, if they fear God because they believe Him to be vindictive?

If one would take time to study the original Gospel of Jesus, The Gospel of the Holy Twelve, as well as the Gospels of the Nag Hammadi and the Dead Sea Scrolls, one will find that there is not a vindictive side to God or Jesus, as it is portrayed in the King James and Catholic Bibles.

This is indeed a blog to follow – and here is some food for though: even if there were no intentional tampering (and we know there were) the Bible as we know it, is a translation of translations.

These translations were done by humans – imperfect beings as those living on Earth now – and as such are bound to carry mistakes: translation errors and mistranslations caused by wrong interpretation, by words that had double meaning, by words that didn’t have direct equivalent. The classic one is the camel and the eye of the needle – the word “gemala” can mean rope or camel according to context. Which one would make more sense? Hebrew was not a large language in terms of vocabulary, let alone the dialect Jesus must have spoken!

Not to mention that many words had more than one meaning or represented a richer ideas that translations can never be trusted enough to contemplate. Now think about the number of translations of the Bible that came from the already translated English version as the source!

I came to know a little about Bible tampering when I attended a course in Apologetics a few years ago. And that experience left my faith somewhat shaken. Thank God, I have been able to reconcile myself to the fact that the Bible was not given to us as it, pristine and whole. However, I have not taken it upon myself to go out and share this knowledge with others who study the Bible because I am not sure what role I will be playing then in their spiritual lives – stumbling block or builder.

Truth is the most important issue that all of us, who are all children of God, and brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, should ALWAYS put first and foremost. Christ was crucified because He brought truth to the world, which he did as it was prophesized in Daniel 8:11; He came to end the daily sacrifice. Those who did not want to hear the truth because it went against their established ways, are those who demanded that Pilate put Jesus to death.

Truth addresses the inconsistencies and contradictions that have driven many from their faith and the church, because the clergy could not satisfactorily answer their questions, and ultimately they were told that they simply must believe. Jesus taught His Apostles and His followers, “seek ye the truth and it shall set you free.” Knowing the truth has brought many of those people who were driven away from their faith, because they could not come to grips with certain inconsistencies and contradictions within their Bible, back to God and Jesus; perhaps they did not go back to their church, but their faith was restored.

I wholeheartedly encourage you to share the truth, and you will receive your reward. The only people who will fight you are those who have preconceived beliefs they feel they must defend, no matter what the evidence is that is presented to them that is contrary to what they want to believe; Just think, though, how much it will help those who are seeking answers to restore their faith.

If God is not righteously vindictive towards sin, then why did Jesus die on the cross?  Isn’t the cross, in and of itelf, a testimony to the fact that sin deserves punishment and wrath from a holy God.  Therefore, it stands to reason, that those who belong to Christ through new birth/salvation won’t suffer God’s vindictive wrath (Jesus took that for them…substitutionary atonement) and, conversely, those who do not belong to Christ will have to face the consequences of their own sins, which we know from the cross of Jesus to be God’s wrath and punishment.

Justin, I completely agree with your statement, “If God is not righteously vindictive towards sin,” but there is vindictiveness, and then there is “vindictiveness.” Jesus taught His Disciples that souls experience birth, death and rebirth many times until they reach the state of purification required to enter into the Kingdom of God, and below is one example:

Lection 37:1-3 1. JESUS sat in the porch of the Temple, and some came to learn His Doctrine, and one said unto Him, Master, what teachest Thou concerning life? 2. And he said unto them, Blessed are they who suffer many experiences, for they shall be made perfect through suffering: they shall be as the angels of God in Heaven and shall die no more, neither shall they be born any more, for death and birth have no more dominion over them. 3. They who have suffered and overcome shall be made Pillars in the Temple of my God, and they shall go out no more. Verily I say unto you, except ye be born again of water and of fire, ye cannot see the kingdom of God.

However, Jesus also taught His Disciples in Lection 67:15 And the cruel and the loveless shall go away into chastisement for ages, and if they repent not, be utterly destroyed; but the righteous and the merciful, shall go into life and peace everlasting. This Verse is an example of God being righteously vindictive.

Now let’s take a look in Exodus of the Old Testament, at an example of being unrighteously vindictive. This Book has numerous instances which portray the Lord as being unrighteously vindictive, but I’ll address only one, which is 11:5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts. This Verse is totally contrary to what Jesus taught His Disciples, and as such was clearly created by men, to suit the needs and traditions of men.

Now for an example of being unrighteously vindictive in the New Testament, let go to Matthew 21:19-21 19 And when He saw a fig tree in the way, He came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. 20 And when the Disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. Verse 19 is clearly creating an unrighteous vindictive image of Jesus.

However, there is a far different accounting of this story in the Gospel of the Holy Twelve, which is Lection 70:1-5 1. NOW on the morrow as they were coming from Bethany, Peter was hungry, and perceiving a fig tree afar off having leaves thereon, he came if happily he might find fruit thereon, and when he came he found nothing but leaves, for the time of figs was not yet.    2. And Peter was angry and said unto it, Accursed tree, no man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And some of the disciples heard of it. 3 And the next day as Jesus and His Disciples passed by, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, behold, the fig tree which I cursed is green and flourishing, wherefore did not my word prevail? 4 Jesus said unto Peter, Thou knowest not what spirit thou art of. Wherefore didst thou curse that which God hath not cursed? And Peter said, Behold Lord I was a hungered, and finding leaves and no fruit, I was angry, and I cursed the tree. 5 And Jesus said, Son of Jonas knewest thou not that the time of figs was not yet? Behold the corn which is in the field which groweth according to its nature first the green shoot, then the stalk, then the ear—would thou be angry if thou camest at the time of the tender shoot or the stalk, and didst not find the corn in the ear? And wouldst thou curse the tree which, full of buds and blossoms, had not yet ripe fruit? It’s very interesting how the authors of Matthew 21:19-21 changed the story regarding the curse on the fig tree to create an unrighteous vindictive image of Jesus, and this is only one example of numerous changes made to Jesus’ Doctrine…changes that significantly modified His Teachings to be negative, rather than positive.

In regard to, “then why did Jesus die on the cross,” I have addressed that question many times in my blogs and videos, and for now I offer these Verses to stimulate your thinking: Lection 33:1-3 1 JESUS was teaching His Disciples in the outer court of the Temple and one of them said unto Him: Master, it is said by the priests that without shedding of blood there is no remission. Can then the blood offering of the law take away sin? 2 And Jesus answered: No blood offering, of beast or bird, or man, can take away sin, for how can the conscience be purged from sin by the shedding of innocent blood? Nay, it will increase the condemnation. 3 The priests indeed receive such offering as a reconciliation of the worshippers for the trespasses against the law of Moses, but for sins against the Law of God there can be no remission, save by repentance and amendment. Jesus made it clear that mankind must atone for their own sins, and He also made clear that no one gets to His Father except through Him.

Both Jesus and John the Baptist, preached baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, and to thereafter follow the Gospel, and sin no more. As time goes on, I will release additional blogs and videos that support the fact that Jesus did not die for all of mankind’s sins, when He was crucified on the Cross. If you’d care to conduct your own research, I suggest you begin with the Old Testament Prophecy in Daniel 8:11-13, which makes it clear Jesus came into this world to end the daily sacrifice that was being carried out in the Temple. God Bless.

Be it a Christian or Catholic, the fact remains we are all believing in the very same God that we praise and worship, the difference its just how we each get & grasp the Good News sent to us via preaching, praying as well as reading our own Bibles.

    • http://rodcdavis.info/blog Rod C. Davis

I agree with you, Chrissie; however, the fact remains there are those of us who question certain lessons within the Bible that are either inconsistent or contradictory to other accountings within the Bible, which have nothing to do with translation issues, and/or are contrary to an inner knowing some of us have been blessed with. This blog and my website are dedicated to those who are seeking answers to those inconsistencies, or contradictions, or accountings that are contrary to their inner knowing. God Bless.

The translations may seem contradictory because we added mulitple words and infused gender, time and dimensions that do not exist in the original writings.  Remove the added words and stay with the original meanings and the stories are clear; simply repeated over and over in different times and places. We did not write about individual people we wrote about creation and creating the Firstborn Divine Child, humanity.

This is not about translation issues that seem contradictory, or regarding multiple words, or infused genders, nor time and dimensions that do not exist in the original writings; this is about the manipulation of God’s Word handed down to mankind through the Holy Spirit and Prophets, and by Jesus through His Apostles. The manipulations have changed Their Doctrine to fit the traditions of men, and to suit their needs.
